With a graphic interface similar to a source code editor, or via the command line, is dedicated to the management and musical composition. Not limited to any style of music and can be used to generate classical music, pop, techno, ambient, and so on.

Csound Front ends can install several distinct QuteCsound (recommended default), TCLCSound (requires TCL / Tk) and CSoundAPI (requires Pure Data). And it includes several different interfaces: C / C + +, Lua, Python (requires at least version 2.6), Java (obviously sought to have Java installed), and Lisp (Lisp with CFFI required).

CSound

The application is free (freeware) and has been released under GNU GPL. Now CSound source code is available for download, improved consultation and community volunteers. It is also cross platform, available for the Windows family, Mac OS X (on Intel microprocessors) and Linux. Also being tested successfully on NetBSD system.
